I would like to officially invite you and Vice/Deputy –Deans to
attend the Deans’ Meeting to be held during the 19th IADR (SEA)/15th
SEAADE Meeting 3-6 September, 2004.
Venue: The Imperial Boathouse Hotel, Koh Samui,
Thailand

Time: 1400-1700 hr
Topic: “Changes in Oral Health Science Education”
The aims of the Deans’ meeting are:

To set up a forum so that Deans and Administrators from the Dental Schools in this region can share their experiences and problems commonly faced in their institutions.

How each institution overcomes those problems and constraints?
-
And through sharing information and experiences the dental schools in the region can co-operatively help one another.
So that future co-operation in research , teaching , learning methods , manpower and sharing materials can be instrumental for the advancement of Dentistry in the region.
The specific objectives for the 2004 Deans’ Meeting is:

To stimulate the production, exchange and dissemination of ideas and information among dental educators.

What changes in today Oral Health Sciences Education need to be considered?

Problems from Problem-based Learning in Oral Health Science Education and how to over come them.
-
Is Competency-based Curriculum an answer to the new trends of Oral Health Education? If so, should all Dental Schools change their curriculum accordingly?
In order to make the above objectives achievable I would like you and/or your Faculty colleagues to present at our meeting before open discussion.
