Dear Colleagues,

My warmest welcome to the 14th Scientific Meeting and Refresher Course in Dentistry- Universitas Indonesia.

This meeting is held back to back with 17th SEAADE meeting in September 2006. In this upcoming joint event, dental schools in Indonesia will have an opportunity to share experience and discuss obstacles with others abroad to improve their educational quality. On the other hand, this event also creates chances for SEAADE to promote its activities to all dental schools in Indonesia. In accordance with that, Toward Achieving International Standard of Dental Professionalism and Education has been chosen as the theme which is selected based on the expectation that we would be able to cooperate toward Global Dental Professionalism and Educational standard.

A Panel Discussion's theme: Qualified Dental Profession through Evidence - Based Dentistry (EBD) is chosen since EBD has been implemented in dental practices of developed countries and it has endorsed dentists in achieving best practices. The list of panelists will consist of Head of dental schools in South East Asia including Indonesia. Other scientific programs such as scientific lectures, short courses and scientific competition will also be presented.

This meeting is also accompanied by dental products exhibition with participants from local and foreign company. Other than promoting their best and most recent products directly to participants, it is hoped that beneficial cooperation between educational institution and dental industry is taking place.

The Organizing Committee has chosen Jakarta Convention Center as the venue of the event to deliver participant's safety and convenience since it is expediently connected via underground pass to Hilton Hotel where we arranged the Accommodation.
