Message from the President January 6th 2005. To All Members and Friends of SEAADE As we enter into the New Year of 2005, we are saddened by the catastrophe of the recent devastation in this part of the world by the Asian Tsumani. We share in the grief and sorrow for the many who have perished including the loss of life and property. We at the SEAADE organization have a responsibility of working and helping in whatever way we can especially to the people in Indonesia , Thailand, Malaysia and Sri Langka. I am sure that our member dental schools in this area have been doing their best to help in whatever way they can to relief the pain and suffering of the affected people. The last few years has seen a steady increase in the number of Institutional Members in our organization. At the recent concluded Sept 2004 meeting at Koh Samui, Thailand, we had a roll count of 26 Institutional members. For the coming 2 years we are embarking on strengthening the organization with 1) New revamped website, 2) Online dental bulletin journal on dental education and 3) possibly our first peer review visitation program. For the coming SEAADE Annual meeting to be in September 2005 in Malacca, Malaysia, a big interesting meeting is promised by the Local Organizing Committee, headed by Prof Toh Choo Gait. I welcome you to take part in this meeting. For the Deans of Dental Schools a very interesting Dean’s Forum meeting will be held. Please prepare your scientific material and educational presentations for the forthcoming meeting. Visit our website to get the latest on the Malacca, September 2-4th, 2005, Meeting. On this note I send you greetings for the year and take care. Yours sincerely, Assoc Professor KENG Siong Beng back to Index |
