Message from the President

Greetings from Malaysia and wishing you a Successful & Happy New Year!

I am pleased to inform you that the 12th Annual SEAADE Scientific Meeting shall be held back to back with the IADR Malaysian Section (SEA Division) in Kuala Lumpur in a 5-star hotel on 25 - 26 September, 2001. I hope we shall be able to reach our target institutional membership of 50 before the meeting. For that I shall need your cooperation and hard work to assist in the membership promotion drive. We are still negotiating to keep the registration fee as low as possible of about US$60-70 without accomodation and US$120-130 on twin sharing basis in Legend Hotel, a 5-star hotel that is situated just across from the PWTC where the FDI World Dental Congress would be held. The theme for the SEAADE meeting will be "Quality Assurance in Dental Education">

I am attaching with this letter to you a copy of the institutional membership form and letter of invitation from me for you to send to deans/rectors/principals of dental institutions in your country or any country in the region that you may visit in the near future.

I am planning to organise a longer discussion cum workshop with deans and Council Members to determine the mechanism of providing dental curriculum consultancy and visitation from SEAADE to dental schools who would like to have an independent body to review and provide a report concerning the quality of their academic programmes. In the pipeline is also a student clinician table clinic competition whereby the winner would be given and all-expense paid trip to USA to compete for the Dentsply's Student Clinician Programme at the ADA Annual Meeting. In addition we shall like to continue the poster presentations by dental institutions. Your feedback concerning this matter will be highly valued.
